In March, TapWalk introduced its new rating feature, which allowed guests at the Boston Globe Travel Show to rate the numerous beers at the show’s Craft Beer Pavilion. The Travel Show also had a leader-board displaying the highest rated beers at the show, creating a competition among the beers and motivation for guests to rate their favorites. Indoor Mapping and Accurate Location

In the retail space, according to an article published in USA Today, “Mobile apps are also becoming a key sales channel. Nudging customers to share what they buy also gives retailers valuable data for merchandising, inventory control and personalized deals.”

College Students are Using Smartphones!

OnlineDegrees.org created a very cool infographic on the use of smartphones by college students.  There are some very interesting statistics, some more surprising than others.  According to their study:

  • the iPhone is the most popular smartphone used by students.
  • 65% of students use their smartphones to retrieve local news.
  • A whopping 92% of students will use their smart phones during idle time around campus.
